About

The Artist

Hey, I'm Jacinta, the driving force behind Luna Art Collective—a venture close to my heart. My journey from military service to the world of ceramic art has been truly metamorphic. Luna Art Collective was born from my passion for art and the experiences that have shaped me. After my time in the Army, I struggled with the aftermath of injuries I sustained while serving, and the toll it took on my mental well-being. It was during this period that I found solace and a sanctuary in art but also a way to infuse joy into my life.

Art has always been a part of me; I studied it in high school. But it wasn't until after my time in the Army that I truly harnessed its therapeutic magic. In 2020, I enrolled in a hand building pottery class—an experience that ignited my fascination with ceramics. I embraced wheel throwing through subsequent courses which taught me to infuse raw emotions into beautiful creations that held tangible personal meaning. I’m not alone on my journey, friends and family have rallied behind me, offering support and encouragement to grow.

Sustainability

Environmental impact is at the heart of Luna Art Collective’s and my own personal ethos. My commitment to environmental responsibility is evident in every step of my production process, even from the start discarded clay is reclaimed and saved for later use. All my packaging is either recyclable or biodegradable and I do my research to source materials mindfully from eco-friendly businesses whenever possible. Finished pieces that didn’t turn out as I envisioned are repurposed or sold at a discounted price to minimise waste.

The Business

Luna Art Collective made its official debut in 2022, signifying my transition from a military background to a blossoming artist. Since then, the collective has evolved into a beacon of artistic expression and resilience. My hand-built and wheel-thrown pieces are a testament to my commitment to mastering my craft and sharing my personal journey through art. Each creation encapsulates emotions, stories, and moments in clay, providing a tangible representation of my transformation.

While Luna Art Collective is still relatively young, my dedication to sustainability and personal growth shines through. My journey from soldier to artist embodies the strength of the human spirit and the healing power of creativity. As I strive for artistic excellence, I draw inspiration from my surroundings, experiences, and the ever-evolving world of ceramics.

Luna Art Collective isn't just a ceramic business; it's a testament to resilience, creativity, and the transformative power of art. Join me on this journey as I continue to evolve as an artist, and witness firsthand the fusion of healing and creativity—a journey that encapsulates the shift from Army to Artist.
